What We Believe

The Ancient Apostles Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty.

And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was born of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary;

Crucified under Pontius Pilate and buried; the third day he rose from the dead;

He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father, from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

And in the Holy Spirit;

The Holy Church;

The forgiveness of sins;

The resurrection of the flesh.

Articles of the community of faith
These articles of Christian Faith and Practice are meant as a theological foundation by which men and women can find community in order to advance the Kingdom of our Lord and His Christ

1. The Word of God

We believe the Holy Bible was written by men as they were divinely inspired and carried along by the Holy Spirit of God. The Word of God is the one true written transcendent path revealed to man that he might understand better the nature and character of God. The Word of God is without error in its original form and language. (2 Tim. 3:16-17, Exodus 24:4, John 5:39,Heb 1:1-2)

2. God the Father

We believe that the one Triune God is the maker of all things visible and invisible. He has reigned with sovereignty as King of the universe before and throughout all time. He will continue to reign eternally.  He is the one true God of three equal and undivided persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and many manifestations. (Gen. 1:1, Exodus 3:14, Ps.115:3, Ps. 19:1, Matt. 7:11, Mark 1:9-11, Rom. 8:14-17, 1John 5:7)

 3. God the Son

We believe Christ Jesus the eternal Son of God is equal to and of one substance with God the Father. The Son of God is the Word of the Father and the King of Glory. Christ Jesus is the very transcendence of God, in that He is 100% God and 100% Man, the Theoantropus, the Mediator between God and man.  He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a perfect sinless life, died for the sins of all mankind, resurrected on the third day, ascended into Heaven, and reigns as King now and forevermore.  (John 1:1-5, 29-34, Isaiah 7:14, Rom 1:3-4, Acts 1:9, John 20:1-20, 28)

4. God the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine and in one substance with the Father and the Son.  The Holy Spirit inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. Through illumination enables men to understand truth.  Exalts Christ, convicts men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment that they might repent. The Holy Spirit regenerates repentant men and baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. The Holy Spirit comforts believers, helps to mature believers and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church and seals the believer unto the day of redemption.  The Holy Spirit enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.  Blaspheme of the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven in this life or the life to come.(Genesis 1:2, Judges 14:6, Isaiah 61:1-3, Joel 2:28-32, Matt. 1:18, 3:16, 28:19, John 4:24, 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, 2:1-4, 19:1-6, Romans 8:9-11, 14-16, 26-27)

5.  Remission of sins

We believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood for the remission of sins that are past, for the regeneration of penitent sinners, and for salvation from sin and from sinning.  (Romans 3:25; 1 John 3:5-10; Ephesians 2:1-10).

 6. Justification

We believe, teach, and firmly maintain the scriptural doctrine of justification by faith.  The Just shall live by faith.  Faith without works is dead and any man that says he has faith should be able to demonstrate it by his good works.  You see a man is justified by works and not faith alone. (Romans 5:1, James 2:14-26)

7. Freedom from sin

We believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood for the complete cleansing of the justified believer from all indwelling sin and from its pollution, subsequent to regeneration. Grace given to the believer at the point of salvation is not only the unmerited favor of God but an impartation of ability to resist sinful acts.   (1 John 1:7-9, Titus 2:11-14).

8  Sanctification

We believe in sanctification. Sanctification is initiated in regeneration and consummated in glorification. Sanctification delivers from the power and dominion of sin.  It is followed by life-long growth in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as we are set apart for the works of God he has prepared for us to do. (2 Corinthians 4:16; 2 Peter 3:18).

9 Baptism in the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire as in the day of Pentecost is obtainable by a definite act of appropriating faith on the part of the  believer, and the initial evidence of the reception of this experience is speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Luke 11:13; Acts 1:5; 2:14, 8-17; 10:44-46; 19:6).

10 Divine Healing

We believe in divine healing as in the atonement and as evidenced in the earthly ministry of Christ, and in the Acts of the Apostles and unto the day the Lord returns to receive His Kingdom. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:14-18; James 5:14-16; Exodus 15:26).

11 The Great Commission

We believe it is the responsibility of every believer to dedicate his life to carrying out the work of the Great Commission, which is the mission of the church.  Reaching every people group with the Word of God to the saving of the soul of man and the transformation of the whole earth till Gods Word covers the earth as the waters cover the seas.  (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-20; Acts 1:8, Romans 10:5-15).

12 The return of the Lord

We believe in the present reign of King Jesus and in his return to claim His Kingdom.  We hold to a positive view of the future where all idols are abolished and the kingdoms of this world will become the Kingdom of our God and His Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.  (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Titus 2:13; 2 Peter 3:1-4; Matthew 24:29-44), and love and wait for His appearing (2 Timothy 4:8, Acts 1:6-11).

13 Eternal Life

We believe that eternal life with God in heaven is a portion of the reward of the finally righteous; and that everlasting banishment from the presence of the Lord and unending torture in hell are the wages of the persistently wicked.  Eternal life however is now present in the life of the believer whereby even death itself cannot separate us from our eternal connection with God our Father  (Matthew 25:46; Psalm 9:17; Revelation 21:7-8).
